Domenico Golf Tournament

On October 7, 2013 HANNA Winery & Vineyards hosted a hole at the San Domenico Golf Tournament at Marin Country Club to benefit the pre-K through grade 8 school!


  

Record Harvest

This Morning at 5 am we brought in our 736th ton. This sets a tonnage record for Hanna winery, surpassing the huge 1997 harvest. More fruit next week too!


  

Chardonnay's last day in the Sun

Today is Home Ranch Chardonnay's last day in the Sun. We're expecting a nice, sweet 25 Brix. They are DELICIOUS!!! The nets were just removed, and the grapes will be hand harvested tonight. No worries for our little friend here, he'll have plenty of insects left to eat ;)

We’re DONE!!! With Sauvignon Blanc at least…

This year we harvested a record 448 tons of Sauvignon Blanc! The final 51 tons were harvested last night and pressed today. There’s no time to celebrate, however, tomorrow we’re harvesting more Red Ranch Cab Sauv and pressing Bismark Cab Franc.

Ferment, Rinse & Repeat

At 6:30 this morning, tank T5 was filled with 10 tons of fermenting HANNA Cabernet from our Red Ranch block 11. By 9:30, it had been drained, shoveled, cleaned, and refilled with 10 tons of block 4 Cab. In six short days, make that VERY LONG days, the tank will be ready to fill again. Pictured here: 1.Chilo stacks bins of just-picked Cab. 2. Isaac and Fernando draining T5 (only looking a little exhausted). 3. Young Cab wine draining into the cart. This will be the “free run” wine. 4. The must left behind after the free run has been drained. 5. Beginning to shovel must into a bin. 6. Fernando taking a break to adjust his safety harness. 7. 2013 Slusser Sauvignon Blanc Has Arrived!!

We harvested 30 tons of Slusser Sauvignon Blanc in the pre-dawn hours, and should finish pressing about twilight. In the heat of the day dry ice is added to the press pan to keep the juice cool and shaded from the sun.

Couldn't help sticking my head in and checking it out ;) Last year we tested the Pellenc in Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards. 2012 Russian River Chardonnay Visits Yosemite

Our 2012 Russian River Valley Chardonnay has been traveling! The luscious flavors of baked apple and Crème Brule paired perfectly with the crisp Yosemite air and serene mountain views. Maybe we will open a Bismark Zinfandel to have with S’mores! It will taste delicious with the chocolate, graham crackers and marshmallows.



Once our wines get the traveling bug there is no stopping them. Where else will we see HANNA?
